Togo 2-0 Algeria

StarAfricaAlgeria and Togo saw their crucial group D match suspended for some minutes last night in Rostenburg because of a bent goalpost.

Five minutes to the end of the encounter, the referee’s attention was drawn on the Hawks’ goalpost that was not straight. He promptly called on organizing officials who took some ten minutes to replace the goalpost and the match restarted. Togo finally made it 2-0 over the Fennecs who became the first side to be eliminated from the 29th Africa cup of nations in South Africa.

Togo’s destiny will be determined next Wednesday when they meet Tunisia in their last match in group D. Both contenders count three points each.
