Togolese religion

CTI family's membersFor the first time ever the Togolese Community in Ireland TCI celebrated its first event through Togo Independence party on 27th of April 2013 at Greenogue Business Park in Rathcole in County Dublin. Were invited for this event others African communities like Botswana, Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Benin and Nigeria. Two guests from Poland and Italian were among us.

pic4It was an amazing evening till late that we spent together with loads of fun. More than 80 people attended the event that we began by opening prayer with Pastors Jean Paul and Antoine. The rest of the ceremony was brilliant and full of happiness as everyone did personally present himself from the beginning by using microphone. An occasion for each one of us to discover ourselves. To thank and welcome all those people present at the event, a Togolese drum player Chiko with his “Djembe” spoke out loud like a griot exalting a king while he was playing drum. Truly artistic moves appreciated by all.

pic1The speech of the President of TCI focused on how the Togolese Community has to increase love, unity, solidarity and support among members. Antoine Ayivi recalled the historical statement of the first president Sylvanus Olympio through a footage video; followed by Togolese National Anthem. One of the main parts of the ceremony was the presentation of Togo through its counties, history, festival, religion, resources, religion celebrities, touristic sites and hotels lectured by Yves Kpeto.

pic5CTI as new community in Dublin has been presented by the vice-secretary Thierry Dossou and followed by live performance with Plazi a Togolese singer. The venue decorated by some posters of Togolese presidents, parks, wild animals, cultural festival showing off African realities. The great performance of Oscar a Togolese actor-comedian was brilliant. He made a poem about Africa. On the main stage where the staff members sat down, was behind them a banner on which it was written ”Togolese Independence Day” with CTI and Ireland logo. In the middle of the banner was the flag whose the signification has been presented by Stan.
