AFCON 2013 Togo VS Tunisia
Both sides are looking for their first points of the tournament after suffering narrow defeats in the opening round as another defeat will effectively mean the end of the road in this year’s Afcon.
Algeria went into the tournament as the second-best ranked team in the continent and were tipped to go through to the next round alongside favourites Ivory Coast.
However, the Desert Foxes failed to get off to a winning start as they lost 1-0 to neighbours Tunisia after dominating most parts of the match. Tunisia's Youssef Msakni last minute strike proved to be the decider. While a draw will not necessarily mark their elimination, Algeria Coach Vahid Halilhodzic says his side have to go for maximum points before their final Group D match against the Elephants.
-There is some force in this team, he said.
-We will do everything to try to win the second match because now we find our backs against the wall.
-We are left with no other choice but to go for the win.
While a number of Algerian stars will look to redeem themselves in front of goal, the same goes for Togo captain Emmanuel Adebayor who will aim to open his account in the tournament after missing some chances against Ivory Coast.
-After the match against Ivory Coast we had a meeting, right afterwards because we had to recover quickly. The players now don't think about Ivory Coast, they're only thinking about the game against Algeria, Togo coach Didier Six said.
