The shop’s current location at, next to Harold Kelly Square, will be converted to a that will open in October.
“We’ve always wanted to be in Hollywood – and finally the opportunity presented itself. We’re really excited to be a part of the neighborhood and the community, ” said Franz Spielvogel, Laughing Planet’s owner and CEO.
The space’s proximity to the and the bike shop were a major attraction for the environmentally conscious, eco-friendly and community-driven chain, which is headquartered in Northeast Portland’s Kerns neighborhood. Design plans are still being finalized, but the healthy-menu cafe promises a high-end renovation, similar to the work that was done on their Lake Oswego location.
The 3, 000-square-foot Hollywood space will be the restaurant’s tenth Portland location and brings their total number of restaurants to 15.
